A day in the life....crazy hat day, field day green team, and a student's extra request during a spelling test! Think it's crazy enough?!

Had the opportunity to speak at the Wisconsin Math Conference last week. What a great experience. It was the first official time that the Box Project was made public to other teachers, in hopes they could see the value and take the project back to their students. The teachers loved it! We had a lively conversation as I showed the process, and the outcomes that my students have produced. Received high praise too, which was nice. I'll be back next year! Below are some of the boxes I shared with participants.
It's hard to believe another school year has gone by. My fourth graders were fantastic this year - worked hard all year long, shared many stories and jokes and made some awesome progress. I will miss them and hope only the best for them. Wait, I have to go make the Jell-O for them before they go! (Yep, another inside joke.) I am very blessed to be able to spend my days with 9-10 year olds. The energy they bring to life wears me out, but in an odd paradox, lifts me up too. The heart we all bring to the classroom, and the camaraderie built is something very special to all of us. Thank you to all my students for a great year!
